Best Season Summer

A meatball sub sandwich with rich and tomatoey marinara sauce really hits the spot on long summer days. Drain, rinse, and assemble on a fresh bun and you're good to go for lunch or dinner. This one's a little tricky - be sure to pay attention the variations on the drain and rinse steps you're used to!

  • 1 can Spaghetti and meatballs in tomato sauce
  • 1 Long bun (hot dog or hoagie bun)
  • 2-4 dashes Parmesan cheese
  1. Open a can of spaghetti and meatballs in tomato sauce and place in a strainer, over a measuring cup.
  2. Allow the sauce to drain out of the spaghetti and meatballs. Depending on the thickness of the sauce, this may take 5-10 minutes.
  3. Once the sauce is nearly fully drained from the spaghetti and meatballs, rinse the spaghetti and meatballs and remove the meatballs. Save the spaghetti for a future recipe if you wish!
  4. Warm your sauce and meatballs in a microwave for 60 seconds.
  5. Slice open your long bun, lengthwise.
  6. Place the meatballs on your bun.
  7. Add sauce.
  8. Add a few dashes of parmesan cheese and enjoy your Meatball Marinara Sub!
